Arizona State rounds out staff with Snyder, Askren and Jordan

Former collegiate standouts Bryan Snyder, Ben Askren and Raymond Jordan have joined the coaching staff of the Arizona State University wrestling program, head coach Shawn Charles announced Tuesday. They will join current assistant coach Brian Stith on the staff.

Snyder will serve as the head assistant coach on Charles' staff while both Askren and Jordan will serve as volunteer assistant coaches.Read More

Ben Askren Discusses His MMA Future

Former Olympic wrestler Ben Askren recently came back home to instruct a wrestling camp at Arrowhead High School; after the seminar he discussed his MMA future, his upcoming move to coach at Arizona State University, and his desire to fight in Wisconsin.

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Ben Askren the wrestler wants Olympic gold. But Ben Askren the mixed martial arts fighter needs green.

The 2008 Olympian and two-time NCAA champion wrestler at Missouri is dabbling in the no-holds-barred and potentially lucrative world of mixed martial arts to make ends meet. Its been a while

I just realized it had been two months since I wrote anything. I got big news this mornign that I got invited to the Abu Dhabi Combat Championships, which is the biggest grappling tourney in the world. I am pumped, but I gotta get real good real fast or I wll get my ankle torn off. It will be in Barcelona on Spet 26. Amateur world disc championships are less than a month away in Kansas City so I am getting excited for that too. Right now I am in Jersey and PA teaching some wrestling. The level of talent out here is jsut amazing, so many good hs wrestlers. I am going to the lake for the fourth and then onthe shawn charles cruise camp. Catch up with you guys soon
